Privacy Policy

HealthSphere.net Corporation (“HealthSphere”) has implemented the following Privacy Policy because we are committed to the protection of our customers’ privacy.  This Privacy Policy applies to the information we collect from our customers at www.healthsphere.net (the “Site”) in connection with the information we provide and the additional information our customers may opt to receive.  Most of the content HealthSphere provides on the Site, however, can be viewed anonymously.  This Privacy Policy discloses our practice with respect to the collection and subsequent use of our customers’ personal information.  This Policy does not apply to the practices of companies that HealthSphere does not own or control, or to people that HealthSphere does not employ or manage.

Information Collection and Use

We do not collect personal information about you unless you choose to provide that information to us or you choose to receive information from this Site where gathering personal information is necessary in order to deliver the specific item or information requested.  If you voluntarily elect to receive email alerts, or if you choose to submit an information request or literature request, we may collect the following categories of personal information: your name, company name, profile, mailing address, telephone number and facsimile number.  In addition, if you voluntarily choose to submit a question to HealthSphere through the “contact us” portion of the Site, we may collect your name, email address, and telephone number as well as any additional information you may wish to provide in the subject and comments portion of the form.

The personal information we collect from you will be used by HealthSphere and its subsidiaries to provide the information or carry out the transaction you have requested or authorized.  In addition, HealthSphere may share or transfer information about you that you have provided to HealthSphere to one or more third party entities pursuant to a sale, merger, assignment, joint venture or other transfer or disposition of a portion, or all of, the assets or stock of HealthSphere.

In some instances we may include certain links in our e-mails that will allow us to monitor whether you accessed specific content in that e-mail.  When you click on one of these links, we will record that click and certain activities on the Site associated with that link.  We use this information to conduct internal research on our users’ demographics and interests, and to better serve you.  This information is collected in aggregate form and is not related to your personally identifiable information.

We use log files to track system activity and maintain our systems.  Log data includes IP addresses, browser type, referring and exit pages, platform type, date and time stamps, and number and nature of clicks through our Site.  We use this information to analyze usage patterns, observe trends, administer the Site, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use.  Log files are not linked to personally identifiable information.

Personally identifiable information collected by HealthSphere may be stored and processed in the United States or any other country in which HealthSphere or its affiliates, subsidiaries or agents maintain facilities.

Cookies

A cookie is a text file that is placed on your hard disk by a web page server.  We use cookies for regular operation of our Site.  Once you close your browser, the cookie is discarded.  Usage of cookies is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on our Site.

Children

Please note that the HealthSphere Site is a general audience web site.  If you are under 13 years of age, you should not request or provide information on this Site.  We do not collect personal information from any person whom we actually know is under the age of 13.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

HealthSphere and its subsidiaries will not share personal information about you with other people or companies except to provide you with the information that you have requested, when we have your permission, or under the following circumstances: HealthSphere may disclose personally identifiable information when we believe that the law requires it, such as in response to subpoenas, court orders, or other legal processes, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims.  In addition, HealthSphere may share information we collect with companies that market our services or with other third parties that assist us with essential services such as data processing or servicing accounts.

The HealthSphere Site may provide hyperlinks to other web sites.  Please be aware that when you click on one of those links, you will be directed to a web site different from the HealthSphere Site, even if a HealthSphere logo, banner, or tool bar is still visible.  Information you provide on other web sites is subject to collection by those other sites, not HealthSphere.  We encourage you to read the privacy statements of those linked sites as their privacy policies may differ from ours.

Security Measures

HealthSphere has adopted security measures to ensure the security and integrity of its customers’ personal data.  These security measures protect your personally identifiable information from loss, misuse or alteration.  When our email alert, information or literature request, or contact forms ask you to enter personally identifiable information, that information is transmitted from your web browser to our servers via the most widely used encryption software – SSL.  While on a secure page, such as our information request form, the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to un-locked when you are just ‘surfing’.

The servers that store personally identifiable information are in a secure environment, in a locked, guarded facility protected by an array of network, hardware, and software security systems.
